Download Clean Lineage 2 Patches
A clean patch is the client's original system folder without any server changes: no custom interfaces, extras or replaced files. You need it to build your own server, test a build, or restore the client after someone else's patch. Some patches have GameGuard disabled, and the Interlude patch supports Windows 10.
To play on a private server, the server's own patch is easier — the project gives it out on its website. Install a clean patch on a clean client of the same chronicle: the clients are on the neighbouring tab.

How to install a Lineage 2 patch
- Download the patch archive for your chronicle and extract it.
- Back up the client's system folder so you can roll back if needed.
- Replace the system folder with the files from the archive.
- Run l2.exe from the system folder.

What is a protocol?
The client version number the server works with. If the patch protocol doesn't match the server's, the game won't connect.
Will a clean patch work for playing on a private server?
Usually not: servers modify the client and give out their own patch. A clean patch is for your own builds, tests and restoring the client.
