Lineage 2 servers in open beta are projects testing publicly before the official launch. During the open beta you can check the build for free: class balance, rates, the shop, stability and ping. Progress is usually wiped after the test, and the project sets the exact rules.

What to Check During the Test

Focus on what is hard to judge from a description: how fast leveling goes, how much enchanting costs, what the shop sells, whether there is lag at peak hours, and how quests and bosses work. If something feels off, tell the admins; that is what the test is for.
