Three marks — all at once or one by one

Swordsinger 2nd class quest walkthrough

Step 1. Duelist Kaien in Oren · Duelist

Teleport to the Town of Oren and enter the Warriors' Guild: Duelist Kaien gives the quest from level 39 to Warriors, Elven Knights, Palus Knights and Orc Monks. Click "Ask about the Mark of the Duelist.", "Ask about the Trial of the Duelist." and "Accept the challenge." (orcs see "Ask about the Duelist Trial." instead of the second line). Kaien hands you five orders — Order Gludio, Dion, Giran, Oren and Aden — plus, on the first take, 104 Dimensional Diamond for a Palus Knight and 72 for the others.

Step 2. Kash in Dion · Challenger

Teleport to the Town of Dion and enter the Warriors' Guild: Kash stands there. He gives the quest from level 35 to Warriors, Elven Knights, Palus Knights, Orc Raiders and Orc Monks. Click "Ask what kind of adventure it is.", then "I accept.". On the first take you get 61 Dimensional Diamond.

Step 3. Master Cardien in Dion · Life

In the same Dion Warriors' Guild, Master Cardien gives the quest only to Elves with the 1st class, from level 37. Click "I will join the struggle." — Cardien hands you Cardien's Letter for the hierarch, plus 102 Dimensional Diamond on the first take.

Step 4. Hierarch Asterios · Life

Teleport through Gludio to the Elven Village: Hierarch Asterios stands in the temple. Either of the two answers works for his first question, then click in turn "I am in.", "Why is the Mother Tree dying?", "How can we save the Mother Tree?" and "I will set off in search of the Water of Life.". The hierarch gives you Hierarch's Letter and the Moonflower Charm — keep the charm until the end of the quest.

Step 5. Thalia at Iris Lake · Life

Thalia stands in the eastern part of Iris Lake. Leave the Elven Village through the south gate and run about 31,000 south. Click "Ask about the Test of Life.", then "How do you create a Grail of Purity?" — Thalia takes the hierarch's letter and gives you the Grail Diagram: only a Dwarven smith can make a cup of pure mithril.

Step 6. Shyslassys in the Neutral Zone · Challenger

Shyslassys lv. 36 is an ancient medusa, a level 36 quest monster; Kash himself advises taking a party. Her lair is a cave by the waterfall in the Neutral Zone, between the Elven and Dark Elven lands. From the Dark Elven Village teleport to the Neutral Zone and run about 25,000 northeast. Other guides go through Swampland: from its teleport it is about 27,500 east.

The Scroll of Shyslassys and the Broken Key drop right away, on the first kill. A Chest Of Shyslassys appears nearby for 200 seconds — it is a bonus, not a quest step: with the key you have a 20% chance of armor patterns and recipes, otherwise 1 to 1,000 adena, and the key is used up. If the monster has just been killed, it respawns in 3 minutes.

Step 7. Kash's letter · Challenger

Go back to Dion and give Kash the scroll. He hands you the Letter of Kash: he left the mark itself with a friend — Martien in Giran.

Step 8. Martien by Giran · Challenger

Teleport to the Town of Giran: Martien stands by the bridge outside the north exit of the town — about 4,300 north of the teleport. Click "Take the challenge": he takes the letter and sends you to kill Gorr, a monster attacking the people of Floran.

Step 9. Blacksmith Pushkin in Giran · Life

Teleport to the Town of Giran: Blacksmith Pushkin works in the smithy. The Dwarf doesn't like Elves, so the talk is long: "I will pay any price.", "Apologize.", "Ask about material.", "Ask where to get Pure Mithril." and "Ask about materials.". He takes the diagram and gives you Pushkin's List: 10 Pure Mithril Ore, 20 Wyrm's Talons and 20 Ant Soldier Acid. The materials drop only while you carry this list, in any order.

Step 10. Ore and talons in Death Pass · Life

From Giran teleport to Dragon Valley: the Death Pass lies all around the arrival point, and basilisks and wyrms roam the whole pass, 3,500 to 17,000 from the teleport. Pure Mithril Ore drops from the level 36 Guardian Basilisk lv. 36, 50% chance × the quest rate. You need 10.

The level 35 Wyrms lv. 35 live in the same pass: Wyrm's Talon, 50%, you need 20. Even more wyrms live in the Gorgon Flower Garden, but there's no reason to go there from Death Pass.

Step 11. Gorr · Challenger

Gorr lv. 36 is a level 36 quest monster in a cave in the Plains of Dion. From Dion teleport to Dion Pasture and run about 7,800 southeast — the cave entrance is west of the Monster Race Track. Gorr drops the Watcher's 1st Eye on the first kill, and it respawns in 3 minutes.

Step 12. Punchers · Duelist

The first trial is 10 trophies from each of ten mobs, two in every land of Aden. The trophies drop with a 100% chance (× the quest rate) and only before the Final Order — after it these mobs give nothing. The Gludio land: from Gludio teleport to Windawood Manor and run about 14,900 south into the Wasteland. The level 34 Puncher lv. 34 drops the Puncher's Shard.

Step 13. Ants in the Ant Nest · Life, Duelist

From Gludio teleport to the Ant Nest and go inside. Pushkin asks for soldiers, but Ant Soldier Acid drops from any of the five kinds: Ant Recruit lv. 33, Ant Patrol lv. 34, Ant Guard lv. 35, Ant Soldier lv. 35 and Ant Warrior Captain lv. 36, levels 33–36. 80% chance, you need 20.

The level 38 Noble Ant Leader lv. 38 lives deeper in the same nest — this is a trophy for Kaien. It drops the Noble Ant's Feeler.

Step 14. The mithril cup · Life

With the three materials return to Pushkin in the Giran smithy and click "Wait until he finishes." twice. The Dwarf takes the list, ore, talons and acid and gives you the Pure Mithril Cup.

Step 15. Martien again · Challenger

Bring the eye back to Martien. He takes it and sends you after a second monster — Baraham, hiding in another cave not far from Gorr's lair.

Step 16. Baraham and Champion Raldo · Challenger

From Dion teleport to the Bee Hive and run about 4,400 north to the cave. The level 36 Baraham lv. 36 has guards — 3 to 6 level 30 Cave Basilisks lv. 30. He drops the Watcher's 2nd Eye, and Champion Raldo appears where he died for 100 seconds — talk to him at once.

Raldo accuses you of attacking the guardians of the magic field. Click in turn "I have come to kill the monsters threatening the villagers.", "Tell him about the Mark of the Challenger and Martien" and "I will help.". He takes the second eye and sends you to Elder Filaur in the Dwarven Village; there is no need to go back to Martien. Missed the 100 seconds? Kill Baraham again: Raldo appears after every kill.

Step 17. Filaur in the Dwarven Village · Challenger

Teleport to the Dwarven Village: Gray Pillar Member Filaur stands in the Elder Council building. He helps only from level 36 — before that he just sends you away. Filaur marks on your map the farthest hall of the Mithril Mines, where succubi are trying to break the seal.

Step 18. The Succubus Queen and the Mark of Challenger · Challenger

From the Dwarven Village teleport to the Mithril Mines and run deep into the mine to the farthest hall — about 12,700 north-northeast. The level 34 Succubus Queen lv. 34 lives there and respawns in 3 minutes. After her death Raldo appears again for 100 seconds.

Talk to Raldo — he gives you the Mark of Challenger, 72,394 XP and 11,250 SP.

Step 19. The cup for Thalia · Life

Take the cup to Thalia at Iris Lake. If the Oren gatekeeper offers Timak Outpost, run about 21,000 southwest from that teleport to Thalia. Thalia takes the cup and gives you Thalia's 1st Letter: only Stardust can turn the cup into the Grail of Purity, and only Dark Elves know how to gather it.

Step 20. The witch Arkenia · Life

From the Dark Elven Village teleport to the Spider Nest and run about 12,600 east to the Altar of Rites. Witch Arkenia drives strangers away, so click "Show Thalia's letter.", "Ask for help." and "Say you will pay the price.". She gives you Arkenia's Contract and Arkenia's Instructions: for the Stardust the witch wants Andariel's Book from the Gludin temple.

Step 21. Priest Adonius in Gludin · Life

Teleport to Gludin Village: Priest Adonius stands in the temple. He won't give away the book, but he will copy it if you help: click "I will help." — you get Adonius's List. You need 20 each of Spider Ichor and Harpy's Down, and they drop only while you carry this list.

Step 22. Spiders and drones by the Cruma Tower · Life, Duelist

From Dion teleport to the Cruma Tower; don't go inside. The level 34 Marsh Spiders lv. 34 live in the marshes north-northeast of the entrance, 2,000 to 11,000 away: Spider Ichor, 50% chance. You need 20.

Further into the same marshes, about 6,500–10,000 from the teleport, you get a trophy for Kaien: the level 35 Marsh Stakato Drone lv. 35 drops the Drone's Chitin.

Step 23. Dead Seekers · Duelist

The Dion land: from Dion run about 31,000 east to the Execution Grounds (many servers also have a direct teleport there). The level 34 Dead Seeker lv. 34 drops the Dead Seeker Fang.

Step 24. Breka Orc Overlords · Duelist

The Giran land: from Giran teleport to Breka's Stronghold and run about 8,000 northeast. The level 35 Breka Orc Overlord lv. 35 drops the Overlord Necklace.

Step 25. Harpies in the Gorgon Flower Garden · Life

From Giran run about 14,000–22,000 east-northeast to the Gorgon Flower Garden. If the gatekeeper offers a Gorgon Flower Garden teleport, the harpies are 3,000–14,000 west of it. Harpy's Down drops from the level 32 Harpy lv. 32, 50%. You need 20.

Step 26. Andariel's Book · Life

Take the ichor and down to Adonius in the Gludin temple — he takes them and gives you the Andariel Scripture Copy.

Step 27. Stardust · Life

Return to Arkenia by the Altar of Rites. The witch takes the book and the contract and gives you the Stardust.

Step 28. Talin's Spear · Life

Take the Stardust to Thalia and click "Ask about Talin's Spear.". From level 38 she gives you Thalia's 2nd Letter: lizardmen stole the spear, and Isael will help you find it. If you're still 37, you get Thalia's Instructions — come back to her at 38.

Step 29. Isael Silvershadow · Life

Teleport to Hunters Village: Isael Silvershadow stands about 1,500 northwest of the teleport. Click "Ask where Talin's Spear is." — she takes the letter and gives you Isael's Instructions: the Leto shamans and chiefs broke the spear into six pieces.

Step 30. Tamlin Orcs and archers · Duelist

The Aden land: from Hunters Village run about 6,000 south-southeast. The level 41 Tamlin Orc lv. 41 drops the Tamrin Orc's Ring.

Level 42 Tamlin Orc Archers lv. 42 roam the same area — they drop the Tamrin Orc's Arrow.

Step 31. Leto lizardmen: the spear and a trophy · Life, Duelist

From Oren teleport to the Plains of Lizardmen and run northwest, about 4,500–10,000. Kill the level 39 Leto Lizardman Shamans lv. 39 and level 40 Leto Lizardman Overlords lv. 40: half of the time a lizardman gives one missing piece — the blade, the shaft or one of four gems. The quest rate doesn't change this, so expect about 12 kills. The same Leto Lizardman Overlords drop a trophy for Kaien — the Chief's Amulet, 10 with a 100% chance (× the quest rate), only before the Final Order. Collect it together with the spear pieces.

Step 32. Fettered Souls · Duelist

Level 38 Fettered Souls lv. 38 roam the Death Pass, the pass between Giran and Oren. From Oren teleport to the Plains of Lizardmen and run about 15,700 south. They drop the Fettered Soul's Chain.

Step 33. Enchanted Monstereyes · Duelist

From Oren teleport to the Ivory Tower and go down into the crater right by the tower. The level 41 Enchanted Monstereye lv. 41 drops the Enchanted Eye Meat.

Step 34. The spear is whole · Life

With all six pieces return to Isael in Hunters Village. She puts the spear together and gives you Talin's Spear and Isael's Letter for Thalia.

Step 35. Grail of Purity · Life

Take Isael's letter to Thalia at Iris Lake — she gives you the Grail of Purity. Now you have both the grail and the spear: all that's left is the tears of Eva's unicorn.

Step 36. Unicorn of Eva · Life

The Unicorn of Eva lv. 30 is a level 30 quest monster. The nearest unicorns are about 8,000 south of Thalia, and their spots run along the road south of the lake far to the west. Equip Talin's Spear: only a kill made with the spear in your hands counts, with the Grail of Purity in your bag. You can finish the unicorn with magic too — what matters is that you land the kill and the spear is equipped. The spear and the grail are taken, and you get the Tears of Unicorn.

Step 37. Water of Life · Life

Return to Thalia with the unicorn's tears — she gives you the Water of Life.

Step 38. Asterios again · Life

Take the Water of Life to Asterios in the Elven Village temple. The hierarch takes the water and the Moonflower Charm and gives you the Camomile Charm for Cardien.

Step 39. Mark of Life · Life

Take the charm to Cardien in the Dion Warriors' Guild — Cardien gives you the Mark of Life, 104,591 XP and 11,250 SP.

Step 40. Final Order · Duelist

With 10 of every trophy go back to Kaien. He won't count them — click "Attempt the final trial." and "Ask about your opponent.": he takes the orders and trophies and gives you the Final Order. Now you need 3 trophies from each of five strong mobs — they drop only after the Final Order; in the final trial you may fight in a party.

Step 41. Excuro and Krator in the Cruma Tower · Duelist

From Dion teleport to the Cruma Tower and enter it. The level 41 Excuro lv. 41 lives on the first floor — Excuro's Skin.

The level 44 Krator lv. 44 is on the second floor, reached by the teleport inside the tower. It drops the Krator's Shard.

Step 42. Grandis · Duelist

Back to the Death Pass: about 16,000 south of the Plains of Lizardmen teleport. The level 40 Grandis lv. 40 drops the Grandi's Skin.

Step 43. Timak Orc Overlords · Duelist

To find the level 45 Timak Orc Overlord lv. 45, run about 11,000–16,000 northwest from the Oren Town teleport. It drops the Timak Orc's Belt.

Step 44. Lakins · Duelist

From Hunters Village run about 7,000–12,000 south-southeast. The level 44 Lakin lv. 44 drops the Lakin's Mace.

Step 45. Mark of Duelist and the class change · Duelist

With 3 of each of the five trophies go back to Kaien in Oren — he gives you the Mark of Duelist, 47,015 XP and 20,000 SP. You now have all three marks: from level 40 a Grand Master of the Warriors' Guild changes your class to Swordsinger — Grand Master Klaus Blackbird stands right here in the Oren Warriors' Guild, or Grand Master Hannavalt in Giran. The next tier is the Sword Muse 3rd class quest from level 76.

How many mobs to kill at your rate

Kaien's trophies drop with a 100% chance — the quest rate multiplies the amount per kill. The ore, talons, acid, ichor and down for Life drop with a 50–80% chance, and the rate multiplies the chance — the table shows the average number of kills. On some servers quest items drop one at a time at any rate — then use the x1 column.

The rate doesn't multiply the Talin's Spear pieces: a lizardman gives one piece half of the time, about 12 kills at any rate. Shyslassys, Gorr, Baraham, the Succubus Queen and the Unicorn of Eva give their item on the first kill.
