The Warcryer is an Orc mystic and the main buffer for fighters: its chants raise P. Atk., Atk. Spd. and crits of the whole party for 20 minutes. This Interlude guide covers Warcryer skills by level with numbers from the datapack, which chants do not stack with Prophet and Overlord buffs, where amulets drop, gear for every grade, where to level from 20 to 80, dyes, subclasses and the road to Doomcryer.
The Warcryer at a glance
| Role | party buffer: chants on everyone within 1,000 for 20 minutes; solo leveling with a blunt and |
| Weapon | one-handed blunt or staff with M. Atk. — see "Warcryer gear" |
| Armor | robe; passives exist for robe, light and heavy armor |
| Dyes | CON at the cost of STR, then WIT for casting or MEN for MP; no INT dyes |
| Where to level | 20–40 — Catacomb of the Heretic, The Pilgrim's Necropolis; 40–52 — Timak Outpost, The Enchanted Valley; 52–61 — Catacomb of the Apostate, Outlaw Forest; 61–76 — Tower of Insolence, Frozen Labyrinth; 76–80 — Imperial Tomb, Forge of the Gods |
At level 76 the Warcryer becomes the Doomcryer. Orc Mystic stats: MEN 42, INT 31, CON 31, WIT 15 — lots of MP and HP for a mystic, but a slow cast. The same Orc Shaman also leads to the second Orc buffer, the Overlord. For the other chronicle, see the High Five Warcryer guide.
How to get the classes
| Class | Level | Quest |
|---|---|---|
| Orc Shaman | 20 | Path to an Orc Shaman — Orc Shaman 1st class quest |
| Warcryer | 40 | marks from Trial of the Pilgrim, Testimony of Glory and Test of the War Spirit — all three in one run in the Warcryer 3-in-1 route; a High Prefect changes your class |
| Doomcryer | 76 | Saga of the Doomcryer — Doomcryer 3rd class quest |
Warcryer chants in Interlude — what they give and from which level
A chant lasts 20 minutes on all party members within 1,000 of the Warcryer: 2.5-second cast, 20-second reuse. MP is for the chant's top level, initial cost included. 📖 — level 1 is learned from an amulet if the server uses spellbooks (where they drop is below).
| Chant | From level | Effect (max level) | MP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14 (lv. 3 — 44) | P. Atk. ×1.15 | 154 | |

| 62 (lv. 3 — 74) | reflects 20% of melee damage | 272 |
Carry plenty of
Spirit Ore for
War Chant and
Earth Chant — without it the chant will not cast. On most servers
Chant of Vampire and
Chant of Revenge trigger only on regular melee hits — usually not on skills or arrows.
Interlude has no combo chants. Every chant is cast separately, so buffing one party with the full set takes more than ten casts. In High Five the Warcryer gets four 40-minute combo chants that replace pairs of regular ones.
Which buffs do not stack with chants
A target keeps one buff of each type (stackType in the server code). Warcryer chants share types with Prophet, Shillien Elder, Elven Elder and Orc mystic buffs — you cannot keep both versions from two buffers:
| Warcryer chant | Same type in other classes |
|---|---|
| Might (Prophet, Shillien Elder, Elven Elder), | |
| Shield (Prophet, Shillien Elder, Elven Elder), | |
| Acumen (Prophet), | |
| Haste (Prophet) | |
| Agility (Elven Elder), | |
| Focus (Prophet, Shillien Elder) | |
| Guidance (Prophet, Shillien Elder), | |
| each other, | |
| each other, |
Different types do stack:
Chant of Battle goes together with
War Chant,
Chant of Shielding with
Earth Chant. Swordsinger songs also go on top:
Song of Earth is a separate type from
Chant of Shielding,
Song of Warding from
Chant of Fire.
War Chant and
Earth Chant stay one at a time: at level 3 it is P. Atk. ×1.1 or P. Def. ×1.15, pick per fight.
Chant of Victory has a higher stack order than
Magnus' Chant and the prophecies, so Victory is the one that stays, whichever order they are cast in. That is why a Doomcryer casts
Magnus' Chant on a mage party and Victory on a fighter party, not both on the same people. If the party has a Prophet, his Might, Shield, Focus,
Death Whisper, Guidance, Haste and Acumen duplicate the chants — take from him what the Warcryer lacks.
Warcryer amulets — where they drop
An amulet is the Orc version of a spellbook. No shop sells amulets — they only drop. By the server code an amulet is needed for level 1 of a chant and only if spellbooks are enabled; many servers turn them off, and everything is learned for SP.

Six 2nd-class amulets — Fury, Rage, Vampire, Evasion,
Freezing Flame and
Steal Essence — drop from the level 41–45 Timak orcs at Timak Outpost: go there right after the class change. The Lilim Slayer, Ornithomimus and Velociraptor have no regular spawn in the server data — if spellbooks are on, ask the server staff where these amulets come from. The chance is multiplied by the drop rate.
How to play a Warcryer

Solo
Before level 20 the Orc Mystic kills with damage-over-time skills —
Chill Flame and
Venom — and refills HP with
Life Drain. The Orc Shaman picks up a blunt:
Stun Attack stuns,
Frost Flame and
Blaze Quake burn, and the seals
Seal of Binding,
Seal of Slow and
Seal of Chaos hold a pack. On the Warcryer these Shaman skills no longer grow — they stay at Orc Shaman level. The 2nd class solo kit:
Soul Cry (P. Atk. +375.5 on yourself while on),
Hammer Crush for the stun,
Steal Essence for HP and your own chants on yourself.
In a party
Before the pull — all party chants, 2.5 seconds per cast. In the fight the Warcryer watches buff timers and spends
Spirit Ore on
War Chant or
Earth Chant;
Chant of Life heals the party over time when the healer falls behind. Spare time goes to
Hammer Crush on the mob hitting the mage. After 20 minutes the set is renewed.

The whole 2nd class tree costs 82,429,000 SP, and the buff chants take only about 10.3M of it. Order:
- Chants — the day they open: Fury, Battle, Rage and Predator are why parties invite a Warcryer. Farm the Fury, Rage and Vampire amulets from the Timak orcs early.
- MP and casting passives —
Boost Mana,
Fast Mana Recovery,
Fast Spell Casting,
Quick Recovery. - Armor mastery — only your own.
Robe Mastery,
Light Armor Mastery and
Heavy Armor Mastery cost 5.4M SP each — learning all three makes no sense.
Hammer Crush,
Fear,
Dreaming Spirit,
Madness and
Steal Essence — 5.4M SP each: for solo leveling and PvP. A pure buffer can delay them.

The whole 3rd class costs 213,010,000 SP, 80M of it for
Magnus' Chant.
Divine Inspiration keeps growing at 76 — again only from books.
Victory and
Magnus' Chant last 5 minutes with a 20-minute reuse, so they are saved for the moment: a raid boss pull, a siege brawl.
Spell Force is for the party's level 80 mystics: their strongest skills can only be cast under this effect. Volcano, Cyclone,
Raging Waves,
Day of Doom, Gehenna and
Mass Recharge (Shillien Saint and Eva's Saint) need level 3
Spell Force,
Anti-Summoning Field,
Purification Field, Miracle and
Flames of Invincibility need level 2; the level usually goes up when several casters channel
Spell Force on the same mystic. None of these skills work in the Olympiad. 13 mystic 3rd classes learn
Spell Force, so other mystics can provide it too.
Gate Chant gathers the party at the Warcryer — handy when someone fell behind at a catacomb entrance or came back from town after dying.
Warcryer skill enchanting
Enchanting opens at level 76: an enchantable skill has two routes up to +30, and you pick one. Each step costs SP and EXP, the very first one also a
Secret Book of Giants; the Saga of the Doomcryer 3rd class quest gives one. The chance for +10 is 2% at level 76 and 73% at level 80, so a Warcryer enchants chants closer to 80; on most servers a failure drops the skill back to its base level.
| Skill | Route 1, at +30 | Route 2, at +30: MP without the initial cost | SP per route |
|---|---|---|---|
| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 81 | 30,794,000 | |
| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 100 | 30,794,000 | |

| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 61 | 30,794,000 | |
| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 75 | 30,794,000 | |
| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 55 | 30,794,000 | |
| lasts 2,400 seconds | MP 94 | 30,794,000 | |
| sleep chance 100 instead of 80 | MP 40 | 30,794,000 | |
| power 127 instead of 108 | MP 62 | 43,131,000 | |
| 66 HP per tick instead of 58 | MP 136 | 55,451,000 |
For a buffer route 1 pays off — fewer rebuffs on a raid; enchant Fury and Predator first.
War Chant,
Earth Chant,
Fear,
Madness,
Freezing Flame,
Soul Cry and Doomcryer skills cannot be enchanted. The Warcryer does not learn
Hammer Crush up to the skill's last level, and usually only the last level can be enchanted — so a Warcryer cannot enchant it.
Warcryer gear
A buffer Warcryer dresses like a mage: a robe and a weapon with M. Atk. for casting and MP.
Hammer Crush works with any blunt-type weapon, and in the server data staffs are blunts too, so you can stun with a staff as well.
Weapon Mastery gives the Warcryer P. Atk. ×1.45 — that is what the Warcryer hits with solo. The best C–S grade staff and one-handed blunt have the same M. Atk.; the staff has more P. Atk., but the blunt attacks faster and leaves the off hand free for a shield. D grade is worn from level 20, C from 40, B from 52, A from 61, S from 76.

Where to level a Warcryer
The tables list zones from player guides and the server data. Each zone shows the mobs with the most EXP per HP and two items from their drop; the chance is at x1 rate and is higher on a server with a raised drop rate. The zone name is the client hunting zone closest to the mob's spawn. At 2nd class a Warcryer levels in a party or with a damage-dealer partner, and solo on mobs below its level with
Hammer Crush. Most servers let you into catacombs and necropolises only with Seven Signs registration.
Level 20–40
Best for a Warcryer: Catacomb of the Heretic and The Pilgrim's Necropolis — more EXP per HP than any open zone; Necropolis of Sacrifice — a catacomb for the start of the 1st class. An Orc Shaman cannot handle a pack alone — go into catacombs with a group.

Warcryer dyes
| Style | Dyes |
|---|---|
| Party buffer: rebuff faster | |
| Long raids: MP runs out | |
| Blunt, solo and PvP |
There are three dye slots, on most servers one stat goes up by +5 at most, and the Warcryer has no INT dyes. With WIT 15 an Orc mystic casts slowly, so a buffer takes WIT. A buffer does not need STR and trades it for CON, while a blunt Warcryer keeps STR for
Hammer Crush damage.
Subclasses for a Warcryer
- When. The first subclass is available at level 75; each next one only when the subclasses you already have are 75 too, three at most. With default settings you need the Mimir's Elixir and Fate's Whisper quests.
- Warcryer as the main class. You can take any 2nd class except your own, Overlord and Warsmith. The elf / dark elf ban does not apply to an Orc.
- Warcryer as a subclass. Any class except the Warcryer itself can take the Warcryer as a subclass; there is no race ban.
- How they work. In Interlude subclass skills usually work only while that subclass is active, and EXP goes only to the active class.
- Which one. A Warcryer main buffs well but kills slowly. Players usually take a class that levels and farms on its own — a nuker or a fighter — and switch back to the Warcryer for parties, raids and sieges.
The Warcryer in the Olympiad
Only nobles enter the Olympiad, and only on the main class.
Chant of Victory lasts 5 minutes — cast at the start of the fight, it works almost to the end, and with a 20-minute reuse you will not press it twice in one match. The Warcryer plays around stuns and control:
Hammer Crush stuns for 9 seconds and ignores shields,
Dreaming Spirit and
Fear hold for 30 seconds,
Soul Cry and
Weapon Mastery raise blunt damage. Against a mage —
Aura Sink burns MP; against a fighter —
Chant of Revenge reflects melee hits.
Chant of Spirit protects your own buffs from cancel.

📖 — by Interlude code level 1 of the skill is learned from a spellbook; many servers disable spellbooks and it is learned for SP.
Other class guides are in the Lineage 2 classes section. To play a Warcryer, pick a project from the L2 Interlude server list or the Interlude+ servers with extra content list — each shows its rates and launch date. All chronicles at once are in the fresh Lineage 2 servers list on the main page.

Where should a Warcryer level?
20–40 — Catacomb of the Heretic, The Pilgrim's Necropolis, Necropolis of Sacrifice; 40–52 — Timak Outpost (amulets drop there too), The Enchanted Valley, Catacomb of the Branded; 52–61 — Catacomb of the Apostate, The Patriot's Necropolis, Outlaw Forest; 61–76 — Tower of Insolence, Frozen Labyrinth, Swamp of Screams; 76–80 — Imperial Tomb, Forge of the Gods, Monastery of Silence. At 2nd class — in a party.
What is the Warcryer 1st class?
Orc Shaman from level 20, quest Path to an Orc Shaman. It opens
Chant of Fire,
Chant of Shielding,
Chant of Life and
Flame Chant.
Which marks does the Warcryer 2nd class need?
Mark of Pilgrim, Mark of Glory and Mark of Warspirit — from the quests Trial of the Pilgrim, Testimony of Glory and Test of the War Spirit. A High Prefect changes you to Warcryer from level 40.
What is the Warcryer 3rd class called?
Doomcryer. You get it from level 76 for the Saga of the Doomcryer quest; its key skills are
Chant of Victory at 78 and
Magnus' Chant at 79.
Where do Warcryer amulets drop?
Only from mobs: Fury, Rage, Vampire, Evasion,
Freezing Flame and
Steal Essence from the level 41–45 Timak orcs, Predator from the Valley Treant, Eagle from the Satyr,
War Chant and
Earth Chant from the Frost Buffalo. Many servers disable amulets, and chants are learned for SP.
Does the Warcryer have combo chants?
Not in Interlude: each chant lasts 20 minutes on its own with a 20-second reuse. The Warcryer gets four 40-minute combo chants in High Five.
Do Warcryer chants stack with Prophet buffs?
No: Might, Shield, Focus,
Death Whisper, Guidance, Haste and Acumen share types with Battle, Shielding, Predator, Rage, Eagle, Fury and
Flame Chant — only one stays. The Prophet's
Greater Might and
Greater Shield do not stack with
War Chant and
Earth Chant.
What should a Warcryer learn first?
Chants the day they open, especially Fury, Battle, Rage and Predator; then
Boost Mana,
Fast Mana Recovery and
Fast Spell Casting. Armor mastery only for your own armor;
Hammer Crush and debuffs are for solo and PvP.
Which dyes for a Warcryer?
CON at the cost of STR, then a choice between WIT (faster cast) and MEN (more MP for chants). A blunt Warcryer takes STR at the cost of DEX. INT dyes are not available to the Warcryer.
Warcryer or Overlord — which one?
Both come from the Orc Shaman at level 40. Warcryer chants hit the party for 20 minutes, and of the two only the Warcryer has Fury, Rage, Predator and Vampire, plus
Chant of Victory and
Magnus' Chant at 3rd class. In the server data the Overlord's Pa'agrio buffs target allies (clan and alliance), and many share a type with the chants, so they do not stack. Parties and raids call for a Warcryer; the Overlord is the clan and siege buffer.
Is Varka in L2 a class or a location?
The Warcryer is a class. Varka Silenos are Silenos mobs, and their Varka Silenos Barracks is one of the level 76–80 zones in "Where to level a Warcryer".
