The Warlord in High Five is a human fighter with a polearm who pulls a whole pack onto himself and hits all of it at once. In HF his area attacks
Whirlwind and
Thunder Storm come back in 4 and 5 seconds, and the Dreadnought gained
Cursed Pierce,
Rush Impact and
Dread Pool. This Warlord HF guide covers the skill order on a pack, what to learn at each class, how High Five differs from Interlude, gear by grade, where to level in every level range, dyes, subclasses and the Olympiad. All numbers come from the High Five datapack.
Warlord at a glance
| Role | AoE damage dealer: gathers mobs, stuns them and hits everything in a radius; in a party — damage on the pack |
| Weapon | polearm — every Warlord and Dreadnought attack except |
| Armor | heavy: the whole pack is hitting the Warlord, so HP and defense matter more than evasion |
| Dyes | STR and CON at the cost of DEX for packs, STR and DEX at the cost of CON for damage — see "Warlord dyes" |
| Where to level | 20–40 — Catacomb of the Heretic, The Pilgrim's Necropolis; 40–52 — Cruma Tower, Garden of Eva; 52–61 — Devil's Isle, The Enchanted Valley; 61–76 — Tower of Insolence, Wall of Argos; 76–80 — Imperial Tomb, Forge of the Gods; 80–85 — Antharas' Lair, Hardin's Academy |
Old cooldowns, Battle Force and leveling on Interlude servers are covered separately — Warlord guide for Interlude. Everything below is High Five only.
How to get the classes
| Class | Level | Quest |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 20 | Path to a Warrior — 1st class quest for the Warlord line |
| Warlord | 40 | marks: |
| Dreadnought | 76 | Saga of the Dreadnought — 3rd class quest for the Warlord |
Our copy of the High Five datapack has no quest scripts, so the marks and coupons come from the class-change handler, while the quest names are the same as in Interlude. Quest steps on your server may differ.
How to play a Warlord in HF
The Warlord earns his keep on mob count: a normal polearm swing catches several enemies in front of you, and the main attacks —
Whirlwind and
Thunder Storm — hit everything in a 150 radius around you. A single target is the class's weak spot, so level where mobs stand in tight groups and keep MP potions on hand:
Whirlwind costs 75 MP and
Thunder Storm 107 MP per use.
Pack: skill order
Provoke — pulls mobs within a 900 radius onto you and lowers their defense against polearms for 10 seconds; reuse 4 seconds.
Howl — mobs' P. Atk ×0.77 within a 200 radius for 30 seconds: the gathered pack hits softer. It lands with a 40% chance, so press it again if some mobs weren't affected.
Thunder Storm — a hit with power 2,082 in a 150 radius plus a stun for 9 seconds, reuse 5 seconds.
Whirlwind — a hit with power 2,740 in the same radius, reuse 4 seconds. Between cooldowns — normal attacks under
Fell Swoop: it gives the polearm 5 more targets for 120 seconds with a reuse of 75 seconds, so you can keep it up all the time.- From level 77–78
Shock Blast (stun for 9 seconds, P. Def and M. Def ×0.7) and
Earthquake (power 4,848) join the rotation. Both have a reuse of 8 seconds, but they cost HP — 507 and 340. - If the pack is pushing hard —
Shock Stomp: stun for 9 seconds in a 150 radius, and with an 80% chance mobs lose their target; reuse 5 seconds.
Turn
Focus Attack off before a pack: this toggle narrows your polearm hit to one target (in exchange crit power ×1.3 and
Accuracy +6) — it's meant for raid bosses and PvP. Keep the other toggles on as long as MP allows:
Vicious Stance (crit power +609),
Polearm Accuracy (
Accuracy +4),
War Frenzy (stun resistance +15%, sleep resistance +30%).
Rush reaches a straggling mob or a fleeing player — a dash of up to 400 with a reuse of 3 seconds.
The class keeps itself alive on its own. At max level
Battle Roar raises max HP ×1.35 for 600 seconds and heals you instantly, reuse 150 seconds. When HP drops below 30%, the passive
Final Frenzy gives P. Atk +129.3. At 10% HP or lower
Revival restores all HP, reuse 900 seconds. Against stuns and sleep from caster mobs —
Lionheart for 60 seconds (resistance to stun, hold, sleep and paralysis +80%).
Single target and raid bosses
On a single target the Warlord switches
Focus Attack on and hits with
Power Crush (power 3,288, reuse 3 seconds), and from level 76 with
Cursed Pierce (power 3,849, same reuse). Pick the detect for the mob type:
Detect Animal Weakness,
Detect Plant Weakness,
Detect Beast Weakness or
Detect Dragon Weakness — each lasts 600 seconds. At the 3rd class they're replaced by
Eye of Hunter (insects, plants, animals) and
Eye of Slayer (beasts, constructs, giants, dragons). Stuns barely land on raid bosses (in the Mobius build they don't land at all), so there
Thunder Storm is worth only its damage, and
Shock Stomp is useless.
Buffs and what doesn't stack
From the party the Warlord wants P. Atk, attack speed and crits:
Might,
Haste,
Focus,
Death Whisper, plus extra buff slots —
Divine Inspiration adds those.
| Warlord skill | With | What stays |
|---|---|---|
| Prophet's | same type, all of them level 6 — the last one cast stays. Their buff lasts 1,200 seconds, | |
| Paladin's Sanctuary, | one type and level 3 — the last one stays on the mob; the same debuff from two classes won't add up | |

The whole Warlord tree in HF costs 82,369,000 SP, and the priciest step is the level 74 batch — almost a third of the total. Learning order:
Whirlwind and
Thunder Storm together with
Polearm Mastery every level, then
Howl,
Provoke,
Shock Stomp and
Fell Swoop, then
Heavy Armor Mastery and
Boost HP;
Power Crush,
Wrath and the detects get whatever SP is left.
Two of the
Divine Inspiration books drop from raid bosses:
Ancient Book: Divine Inspiration (Original Language Version) — 56% from Krokian Padisha Sobekk lv. 74, Death Lord Hallate lv. 73, Icicle Emperor Bumbalump lv. 74 and Antharas Priest Cloe lv. 74;
Ancient Book: Divine Inspiration (Manuscript) — 100% from Baium lv. 78, 60% from Scarlet van Halisha lv. 80, 50% each from Antharas lv. 79 and Valakas lv. 85. For the other two (
Ancient Book: Divine Inspiration (Modern Language Version),
Ancient Book: Divine Inspiration (Original Version)) the datapack has neither a drop nor a shop listing — on some servers a shop sells them, otherwise you'll have to buy from players. You need the Modern Language Version as early as the first level of
Divine Inspiration.

If your server runs Freya or Gracia Final
The High Five datapack flags
Rush and
Rush Impact as skills brought over from other classes specifically in High Five — on Freya and Gracia Final the Warlord most likely doesn't have them, and you'll have to close the gap on foot. Our data doesn't confirm the remaining skills and cooldowns for these chronicles: before you level, check the skill list at the warrior trainer on your server.
Warlord gear
A polearm takes both hands and leaves no room for a shield, so the shield bonuses of the sets below are left out. Attack values and set bonuses come from the High Five datapack; the item choices are what players pick most often.

Where to level a Warlord in HF
Look for zones where mobs stand close together and come at you as a group: lone targets throw away everything the class is good at. Mobs in the tables are picked by XP per HP from the High Five datapack, and the drop column shows two items with their chance at x1 rate. In the catacombs and necropolises almost every mob drops Seal Stones.
Level 20–40
Best for a Warlord: Catacomb of the Heretic and The Pilgrim's Necropolis — tied for the most XP per HP, seal stones at 70%; Necropolis of Sacrifice — mobs from level 20.

Dyes can't raise a single stat by more than +5 — anything above that is wasted. The Warlord spends nearly all his time in the middle of a pack, so the first set, which leaves CON untouched, is the comfortable one for leveling. In a party with a healer you can trade CON for DEX: attack speed and crits turn into more damage. One application takes ten dyes; there are no MEN dyes for a Warlord in HF.
Subclasses for a Warlord
You take a subclass at level 75 on the main class; by default it needs the
Mimir's Elixir and Fate's Whisper quests, though their number and conditions are set by the server config.
- Warlord as the main class. You can't take your own class, Overlord, Warsmith or the Kamael classes; every other 2nd class is open, from Gladiator to Bounty Hunter. A common pick is a buffer (Warcryer, Prophet, Bishop) for self-buffs while leveling.
- Warlord as a subclass. People take it for the warrior certificates: the main class gets their skills, and the Warlord sub itself rarely gets leveled all the way.
Certification. A subclass earns the main class skills through certificates: from sub level 65 — Emergent Ability, from 75 — an ability for the sub's type plus Master Ability, from 80 — the Divine transformation. For a Warlord main the most useful are
Emergent Ability - Attack (P. Atk +38.2 with a polearm at max level),

The Warlord in the Olympiad
The Olympiad is open only to nobles on their main class. In our High Five build a fight lasts five minutes, you start with 10 points and get 10 more every week, and you make the rankings after 15 fights. The Dreadnought's strengths in the arena:
Shock Blast and
Rush Impact (two stuns from different ranges),
Dread Pool (fear for 8 seconds),
Final Secret for 30 seconds,
Wrath against CP and
Braveheart for 1,000 CP. Against damage dealers turn on
Parry Stance, against stunners —
Lionheart and
War Frenzy. The weak spot is single-target damage, so you win fights with control: stun, fear, then
Power Crush and
Cursed Pierce on the immobilized opponent.

Tree and numbers are from the High Five datapack (L2J Mobius CT 2.6). In High Five spellbooks are gone: everything is learned for SP except Divine Inspiration (Ancient Book) and skills that need a Forgotten Scroll — their SP column says “book or scroll”.
Other classes and their guides are collected under all Lineage 2 classes. The Warlord shines on a server with busy catacombs and big packs of mobs — pick one of the new L2 High Five servers or browse every server announcement.
