The TH (Treasure Hunter, Adventurer after the 3rd class change) is a human dagger user who deals heavy blows with
Deadly Blow and
Backstab on an 11-second reuse and relies on evasion to dodge attacks in between. This TH guide covers Interlude: how dagger damage works, what to learn at each class, buffs, gear by grade, where to level from 20 to 80, dyes, subclasses and the Olympiad. Every number in this L2 TH guide comes from the server datapack.
TH at a glance
| Role | solo single-target damage with dagger blows; in a party — finishing targets off and shedding aggro |
| Weapon | dagger only: none of the class's blows work without one — see "TH gear" |
| Armor | light: |
| Dyes | DEX at the cost of CON or STR — attack speed and evasion |
| Where to level | 20–40 — Catacomb of the Heretic, The Pilgrim's Necropolis; 40–52 — Archaic Laboratory, Catacomb of the Branded; 52–61 — Archaic Laboratory, Catacomb of the Apostate; 61–76 — Tower of Insolence, Swamp of Screams; 76–80 — Imperial Tomb, Forge of the Gods |
A Human Fighter starts with STR 40, CON 43 and DEX 30. The TH can't soak damage like a tank, but he is fast on his feet, opens chests and has skills to get monsters off his back.
TH class change quests
| Class | Level | Quest |
|---|---|---|
| Rogue | 20 | Path to a Rogue from Bezique, can be taken from 19 — TH 1st class change |
| Treasure Hunter | 40 | the Seeker, Trust and Searcher marks — TH 2nd class quests; the change itself is done by a fighter master such as Hannavalt |
| Adventurer | 76 | Saga of the Adventurer, starting with Black Cat — TH 3rd class quest |
The 2nd class marks come from three quests:
| Mark | Quest | Start |
|---|---|---|
| Mark of Seeker | Trial of the Seeker | Dufner, from level 35; the middle part is turned in from 36 |
| Mark of Trust | Testimony of Trust | Hollint, from level 37, humans only; some steps from 38 |
| Mark of Searcher | Test of the Searcher | Luther, from level 39 |
Saga of the Adventurer becomes available at level 76. On top of the class itself it rewards experience, adena and a
Secret Book of Giants — you'll need it for your first skill enchant.
How the TH hits: dagger blows
TH damage comes down to four blow skills, and every one of them needs a dagger in hand.
| Skill | Position | Power (max) | MP | Reuse |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| any side | 5,479 | 75 | 11 seconds | |
| from behind only | 5,479 | 125 | 11 seconds | |
| any side; blow chance ×1.4 on yourself for 15 seconds | 3,653 | 76 | 90 seconds | |
| any side, from level 76 | 5,773 | 85 | 15 seconds |
What matters for dagger blows:
- Blow chance depends on position (front 50%, side 60%, back 70%) and on blow-chance multipliers —
Critical Blow,
Assassination and SA
Mortal Strike on the dagger (the datapack calls this SA Mighty Mortal). A miss means the hit didn't land, yet the MP is spent. - DEX gives attack speed (and with it shorter blow reuse), evasion and auto-attack crits, and on most servers nudges blow chance up a little. In the aCis build the DEX bonus to blow chance comes out as zero because the formula uses integer division.
- Blow damage is built from the dagger's P. Atk plus the skill power, grows with critical damage (
Death Whisper,
Focus Power) and flat bonuses to it —
Vicious Stance,
Critical Power and the Critical Damage SA — and is divided by the target's P. Def. So pick a dagger with high attack and the right SA. In the aCis build P. Atk isn't part of blow damage; there skill power and the SA decide. - Soulshots boost blows. In the aCis build only
Backstab and
Lethal Blow gain from them;
Deadly Blow and
Critical Blow don't. - Lethal.
Deadly Blow,
Backstab,
Critical Blow and
Lethal Blow sometimes cut a monster's HP in half, and
Critical Blow and
Lethal Blow occasionally leave it at 1 HP. Against a player they drop CP to 1, and the rare second effect of
Critical Blow and
Lethal Blow drops HP to 1 as well. Raid bosses are immune. - Reuse of physical skills is divided by attack speed, so
Haste and
Chant of Fury speed up dagger blows as well as auto-attacks.
Rotation on a monster: get behind it →
Critical Blow (blow chance ×1.4 for 15 seconds) →
Backstab →
Deadly Blow → auto-attack while everything is on reuse.
Backstab won't work from the front — use
Deadly Blow there.
Chests:
Unlock and
Summon Treasure Key
Every dagger class can open chests:
Unlock is learned at level 20, and
Summon Treasure Key joins it at 46. Chests sit in many hunting grounds and hold adena, materials, item parts and life stones.
| Skill | How it works | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| opens a chest; a higher skill level means a better chance, but on high-level chests it never goes above one half; on a failure the chest attacks | ||
| turns a |
You get one try per chest, never a second. With a Deluxe Chest Key, 60% of chests turn out to be mimics and attack no matter which key you use. In the other 40% the key grade decides — it should match the tens of the chest's level: the right grade always opens it, one grade off works 60% of the time, two grades off 20%; a failure makes the chest disappear.
Unlock has no mimic check — only its own chance. Hitting a chest with a weapon is pointless — it either blows up (an area Treasure Bomb) or attacks you.
How to play a TH in Interlude
Solo, one monster at a time. The core playstyle. Keep
Vicious Stance on permanently (it drains MP) and hunt passive or lone monsters. The blow order is above. If a monster is dangerous, use
Veil (it won't aggro for 120 seconds) or
Trick /
Switch (to make it drop you as a target).
Pulling.
Lure (from level 52, range 400) draws a single monster out of a pack — the TH has no area attacks and can't hold a whole pack.
In a party. He finishes off from behind whatever the tank is holding. On the 3rd class
Battle Force gives an ally P. Atk ×1.1 for as long as you keep it up.
Sneaking.
Silent Move (speed ×0.6) and
Stealth for 120 seconds let you slip past aggressive monsters to a chest or a spot. Under
Stealth the TH is weak — P. Atk ×0.55, P. Def and M. Def ×0.85 — so don't open a fight from it.
Fake Death (MP 200) sheds monsters if a pack catches up anyway.
When things go wrong:
| Skill | Effect |
|---|---|
| Evasion +25 for 30 seconds, reuse 1,800 seconds | |
| speed +66 for 15 seconds, reuse 80 seconds | |
| removes a hold (root) from yourself, reuse 30 seconds |
What doesn't stack
| Your skill | Doesn't stack with | What remains |
|---|---|---|
| each other | one — the last applied | |
| another dagger user's | one bleed on the target: equal order, so the last one stays | |
| one accuracy debuff — the last applied | ||
| a Bishop's | only one of them | |
| stuns from other classes — | one stun |
Buffs for a TH
A TH levels with a buffer: without critical damage and attack speed his blows are weak and rare. What matters specifically for a dagger user:
| Buffer | What it gives the TH |
|---|---|
| Prophet | |
| Shillien Elder | the same |
| Warcryer | |
| Bladedancer | |
| Swordsinger |
Death Whisper and
Chant of Rage share a type with equal order, so whichever is applied last stays. The same goes for
Haste and
Chant of Fury. Might and
Chant of Battle (P. Atk ×1.15) are worth having: on most servers P. Atk is part of dagger blow damage. In the aCis build they raise only auto-attacks. For PvP add
Mental Shield from a Prophet or Shillien Elder: sleep and hold resistance +50%.

| 79 | for 60 seconds anyone attacking you has an 80% chance to lose their target; reuse 10 minutes | |
| 80 | a symbol with radius 180: everyone in range, enemies included, gets |
The 3rd class costs the TH 363,010,000 SP; the priciest are
Symbol of the Assassin (150 million) and
Mirage (80 million). Symbol needs an
Ancient Tactical Manual: Symbol of the Assassin, and only one monster drops it — Velociraptor lv. 86: 4.76% in one drop category and 0.257% in another. On a server where spellbooks aren't mandatory (a config option in aCis) the skill is learned without it.
Focus Power and
Focus Chance share a type; the last one applied stays. For dagger blows take
Focus Power — it raises the critical damage of blows (in the aCis build half of its bonus goes into blow damage).
Focus Chance only touches auto-attack crits and adds nothing to blow chance.
Skill Mastery can reset the reuse of any skill,
Deadly Blow included, and on a buff it doubles the duration.
TH skill enchanting
Enchanting opens at level 76: blows and most 2nd class skills have two routes, each going up to +30, and you can follow only one of them. Every step costs SP and experience, and the very first one also takes the
Secret Book of Giants from the Saga of the Adventurer reward. The +1 chance is 82% at level 76, while +30 is 3% even at 80.
| Skill | Route 1 at +30 | Route 2 at +30 |
|---|---|---|
| power 7,192 | MP 38, power 6,231 | |
| power 5,889 | MP 86 | |
| power 4,640 | MP 38 | |
| critical damage +774, 0 MP to toggle on, drains 34 MP per 5 seconds | drains 26.35 MP per 5 seconds instead of 29.6 | |
| lasts 52 seconds | reuse a third shorter |
Start with
Deadly Blow on the power route — it's your main hit. Next comes
Vicious Stance on route 1, which strengthens every blow. Adventurer skills can't be enchanted in Interlude.
TH gear
The TH uses a dagger and light armor; grades open at levels 20, 40, 52, 61 and 76. Take a dagger with high P. Atk and the right SA: Critical Damage (extra critical damage) or SA
Mortal Strike (blow chance). In the aCis build P. Atk isn't part of blow damage, so there the SA decides. Attack values and bonuses are taken from the datapack.

Attack speed sets (Dark Crystal, Draconic) shorten blow reuse too. Nightmare is the PvP pick, since a TH gets slept and held a lot there.
Where to level a TH
The tables list zones taken from player guides, the best experience-per-HP monsters in each and two of their drops. Chances are for an x1 rate. Single monsters suit a TH best: with no area attacks he loses time on packs. The monster level sits next to its name.
Level 20–40
Best for a TH: Catacomb of the Heretic and The Pilgrim's Necropolis — the most experience per HP, tied (Catacomb Stakato Soldier lv. 38, level 38); Necropolis of Sacrifice — undead for the start of the range, with experience per HP close to the catacombs.

TH dyes
DEX gives attack speed (shorter blow reuse), evasion, auto-attack crits and on most servers a little blow chance (not in the aCis build); STR raises the
Skill Mastery chance and auto-attack, CON raises HP. Dyes can add no more than +5 to any one stat.
| Style | Dyes (all three) |
|---|---|
| PvE, frequent blows and evasion | |
| PvP and Olympiad, no HP loss | |
| 3rd class, built around |
There are no MEN dyes for the TH, and he has no use for INT or WIT.
Subclasses for a TH
A subclass is available from level 75 — the main class and every subclass you already have must reach it; on a server with default settings you need the Mimir's Elixir and Fate's Whisper quests, and you can have at most three subclasses.
- TH as the main class. Abyss Walker and Plains Walker (the same dagger group), Overlord and Warsmith are off limits. Any other 2nd class is fine. Subclass buffs drop off when you switch, so "buffing yourself with your sub" doesn't work: the sub is leveled as a separate character — a buffer for your own party or a Bounty Hunter for spoil.
- TH as a subclass. Almost everyone can take it except Abyss Walker and Plains Walker — for chests and solo leveling.
In Interlude a subclass leaves nothing behind for the main class: its skills work only while it is active. Interlude has no certificates that carry sub skills over to the main class; High Five already has them — see the TH guide for High Five.
The TH in the Olympiad
Only nobles get in, and only on their main class — an active subclass isn't allowed. The Adventurer's strengths in the Olympiad:
Mirage before the fight: on each of their attacks the opponent has an 80% chance to lose you as a target;
Bluff — a stun and target drop, then step behind for
Backstab;
Focus Power — stronger hits from behind, and mages have low P. Def, so dagger blows are your main damage against them;
Ultimate Evasion against fighters.
Symbol of the Assassin can't be used in the Olympiad.

📖 — by Interlude code level 1 of the skill is learned from a spellbook; many servers disable spellbooks and it is learned for SP.
Other classes are in the Lineage 2 classes section. A dagger class is easiest to start on a fresh server: check opening dates in the new Interlude servers list, and modded versions under Interlude+ servers.

Where should a TH level?
20–40 — Catacomb of the Heretic, The Pilgrim's Necropolis; 40–52 — Archaic Laboratory, Catacomb of the Branded; 52–61 — Archaic Laboratory, Catacomb of the Apostate; 61–76 — Tower of Insolence, Swamp of Screams; 76–80 — Imperial Tomb, Forge of the Gods.
Which TH skills should I learn first?
Deadly Blow and
Backstab, then
Vicious Stance and
Critical Power, the dagger and light armor masteries, and
Critical Blow from level 55.
Lure,
Stealth and
Sand Bomb — as needed.
How is the TH different from the AW and PW?
Only the TH has
Critical Blow and
Stealth, plus
Mirage and the
Focus Chance and
Focus Power pair on the 3rd class. Abyss Walker and Plains Walker get
Mortal Strike and
Blinding Blow instead.
What dyes should a TH use?
For PvE — DEX+4 CON−4, DEX+1 CON−1 and STR+4 CON−4. For PvP — DEX+4 CON−4, DEX+1 STR−1 and CON+4 STR−4: maximum DEX without losing CON.
Which marks does the TH 2nd class need?
Mark of Seeker, Mark of Trust and Mark of Searcher — from Trial of the Seeker, Testimony of Trust and Test of the Searcher, starting at levels 35, 37 and 39. A fighter master grants Treasure Hunter from level 40.
How does a TH get the 3rd class?
Black Cat gives out the Saga of the Adventurer quest from level 76. It rewards the Adventurer class, experience, adena and a
Secret Book of Giants for your first skill enchant.
What buffs does a TH need?
Death Whisper (Prophet, Shillien Elder) or
Chant of Rage (Warcryer) — critical damage ×1.35;
Haste or
Chant of Fury — attack speed ×1.33;
Dance of Fury from a Bladedancer; Might or
Chant of Battle add P. Atk, which on most servers is part of blow damage (in the aCis build only auto-attack damage).
Which subclass should a TH take?
Any 2nd class except Abyss Walker, Plains Walker, Overlord and Warsmith. Subclass buffs drop off when you switch, so the sub is a separate character: a buffer for the party or a Bounty Hunter.
What should a TH enchant first?
Deadly Blow on the power route, then
Vicious Stance on route 1 for extra critical damage. Adventurer skills can't be enchanted.
