How to get your 1st class

Every class has its own 1st class quest in Lineage 2: Path to a Palus Knight, Path to a Scavenger, Path to a Cleric and so on. You take it at level 18–19 from an NPC in your race's starting village or the nearest town. At the end you receive a token item, and with it the guild master of your race changes your class at level 20.

If the server has a Class Master

Many servers have a Class Master NPC that changes your class for adena or for free. Then the quest is optional, but you also skip its reward. Check the server description to see whether it has one.
